Amid speculation of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his Janata Dal (United) party aligning with the BJP, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge expressed a lack of information on JD(U) leaving the alliance. Kharge stated that he had written to JD(U) and attempted to contact them but remains uncertain about Nitish Kumar’s intentions.

Kharge announced plans to visit Delhi to gather more information and understand the unfolding situation in Bihar. He emphasized the absence of confirmation regarding Nitish Kumar’s resignation or any meeting with the Governor. Reports suggest Nitish Kumar is likely to be sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for the ninth time, with BJP support. The political developments have triggered widespread officer transfers, heightening the suspense surrounding a potential change in government.

Kharge acknowledged the lack of authenticated information, expressing uncertainty about the unfolding events. Despite the uncertainty, sources indicate that Nitish Kumar’s oath-taking ceremony is imminent. This situation casts a shadow over the existing ‘Mahagathbandhan’ ruling coalition.

Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) decided not to withdraw support from the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar. In a meeting held at Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav’s residence, all MLAs unanimously agreed not to withdraw support. RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha, present at the meeting, emphasized the government’s formation aimed at job creation and improved health infrastructure. The decision not to withdraw support was endorsed by MLAs, and Lalu Prasad Yadav was authorized to make decisions in the prevailing circumstances.

As the political landscape in Bihar remains uncertain, the Congress Chief’s visit to Delhi is expected to shed light on the unfolding situation. The potential realignment of political alliances may significantly impact Bihar’s political landscape in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha polls.
